About the chart room

A small Bangkok practice that still draws the nights by hand.

The official registered business name is Sense Ripple Analytics Co., Ltd. The company was established in 2014. The work is hotel occupancy analytics: reading one house at a time from its own night books.

How the company began

Mali Chaiyasit spent eleven years in front office at a ninety-room hotel near Victory Monument. Owners kept asking why a month that closed near three quarters full still felt empty on weekday nights. In 2014 she registered Sense Ripple Analytics Co., Ltd. and started laying those nights out on long sheets, one mark for rooms sold, one for rooms out of order, one for rooms empty.

Anan Rattanakul joined in 2016 from night audit, where he had closed the books for a Sukhumvit house through two floods and a long renovation. In 2017 the practice took the office it still uses at 16/3 Phahonyothin Road, Anusawari, Bang Khen, Bangkok 10220. That room is the chart room: dark wood, the season pinned up, and enough quiet to argue about a single Wednesday.

Since then the company has read houses in Bangkok and travelled for briefings in Chiang Mai, Phuket, Hua Hin, and Chiang Rai. The register of the company has stayed the same. The method has stayed close to the night audit, because that is the record the desk already trusts.

The people who draw

Mali Chaiyasit

Principal reader. She leads the season briefs and the pre-opening studies, and she is the person who will say when a stretch of nights is too broken to judge. Her years at the desk were spent on arrivals, group wash, and the conversation with owners after a disappointing month.

Anan Rattanakul

Chart room lead. He drafts the night-by-night sheets and keeps the counting rules consistent from one year to the next, especially complimentary rooms and day-use. If a label on a chart is hard to follow, he would rather redraw it in the briefing than defend it.

How we sit with a hotel

One engagement is one property. A group of houses owned together is several briefs, so a strong beach month cannot paint over a thin city week. We write down how your house counts complimentary stays before we compare it with last year. We would rather pause than invent the nights that a flood or a lost folder took with it.

Rate decisions, channel contracts, and rosters remain with the hotel. What we hand you is the season made visible, a written reading, and the time to talk through it. If that is the help you want, the chart room is the right place to write.
